Varun Gandhi on his commitment to the farmers’ movement, in particular following the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, the Shiv Sena said every farmer’s organization should adopt a resolution praising Varun Gandhi’s position in the matter. A piece in the Sena publication ‘Saamana’ asked if others’ blood changed to cold, despite seeing the horrifying incident in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh which saw eight people, including four farmers who were killed earlier in the month. Police arrested on Saturday Ashish Mishra, the son of the Union Minister of State, Home and Family Ajay Mishra, In connection with the 3rd of October violence that occurred in Lakhimpur Kheri. Ashish Mishra was arrested in an FIR in connection with reports that he was inside one vehicle that killed four farmers during the protest against Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s visit to the state last Sunday.

Varun Gandhi has shown a lot of support to the cause of farmers during their protests against three laws governing agriculture and has often tweeted his support of the farmers. This position is believed not to have taken well with those in the BJP leadership.
